Solar Panels:

Solar panels are fitted to your roof to generate your own electricity.

For a typical UK home, the Energy Saving Trust estimates you could save £400–£500 a year on your bills and cut around 630 kg of CO₂ annually, depending on the size of the system.

Why: They reduce how much electricity you need to buy from the grid and provide clean, renewable energy for your home.

Loft Insulation:

Adding or upgrading insulation in loft/roof space so less heat escapes.

The Energy Saving Trust says a typical home can save £210–£390 a year, and a detached house could cut up to 950 kg of CO₂ each year.

Why: A lot of heat is lost through an uninsulated roof, so insulating your loft keeps your home warmer and reduces your energy bills.

Cavity Wall Insulation:

Filling the gap in cavity walls with insulating material so less heat escapes.

A typical home can save £150–£250 a year, and a detached house could reduce carbon emissions by around 1,080 kg of CO₂ each year.

Why: Walls can be one of the biggest sources of heat loss, so insulating them helps keep your home warmer and lowers your energy bills.

Draught Proofing:

This involves sealing gaps around doors, windows, floors and chimneys to stop cold air coming in and warm air escaping.

Our innovative Airex Smart Airbrick for suspended timber floors also helps reduce draughts and cold spots, improving comfort. A typical home can save £20–£40 a year and cut 100–150 kg of CO₂.

Why: It’s a low-cost, quick improvement that helps keep your home warmer, more comfortable, and more energy efficient.

Air Source Heat Pump:

Renewable heating in comparison to high retention storage heaters can save £, make your home more comfortable and generate lower carbon emissions than a typical oil boiler.

Installed with a solar PV array can significantly reduce carbon emissions in comparison to fossil fuels.  We would not recommend an Air Source Heat Pump to replace a mains gas boiler due to current energy prices.

Double Glazing and Doors:

Upgrading older windows and doors—especially those installed before 2002—can reduce draughts, cold spots and heat loss, making your home more comfortable.

Why: Solar heat gain can be reduced in the summer to prevent overheating, heat loss is reduced in the winter reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.

Ventilation: 

If you have mould and condensation build up in your home the cause may be poor ventilation.  As we have made our homes more airtight by increasing insulation we have reduced natural air leakage, trapping warm moist air in our homes, that condensates on cold surfaces leading to ideal conditions for mould to grow.

A fully qualified damp and mould specialist (a Certified Surveyor of Timber and Dampness in Buildings – CSTDB) can carry out a full survey of your home and recommend the right steps to remove the damp and prevent mould from returning.
