Non-Domestic EPCs

Since 1 April 2018, landlords of non-domestic rented properties have only been permitted to grant a new tenancy or to extend or renew an existing tenancy, if their property has at least an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) E rating, unless they have registered a valid exemption.

From 1 April 2023, the requirement for non-domestic landlords to obtain at least an EPC E rating, unless they have registered a valid exemption, applies to all privately rented non-domestic properties (even where there has been no change in tenancy).

If your property is currently empty, and you are not planning to let it, you don’t need to take any action to improve its rating.  If you are planning reletting your non-domestic property you will require an EPC, if the EPC falls into a G or a G banding you will need to take steps to improve the energy efficiency of the property.

CPH Retrofit can then recommend a package of measures required to ensure your property reaches EPC Band E.

Retrofit coordinators are an absolute pleasure to work with,

Alex and his team have guided and advised Dodd Group with the initially rather complicated PAS2030/2025 processes.

With Alex’s support we were up and running in the world of PAS within a matter of weeks, we have now successfully delivered many projects.

Alex has introduced Dodd Group to new clients and we look forward to working with retrofit coordinators for many years to come.

    PAS 2035:2019

PAS 2035:2019 is the overarching British Framework for Retrofitting dwellings for improved energy efficiency.

It provides specification, guidance and process for the installation of energy efficiency measures to existing domestic buildings, and details best practice guidance for Assessors, Coordinators Designers and Installers.

What makes PAS 2035 different, is the approach to the retrofit process which is considered to be fabric first, whole house retrofit.  This process considers the home energy performance, environment, occupancy, property condition and the householders’ improvement objectives when determining the most suitable energy efficiency measures to install. It also prohibits the issue of

What are the key roles introduced by PAS 2035?

PAS 2035 introduces a number of roles requiring new levels of qualifications which are required for the whole house retrofit projects.

    Level 3 Retrofit Assessor

Level 5 Diploma Retrofit Coordination and Risk Management

Level 3 Energy Efficiency Measures for Older and Traditional Properties

    The new professional roles are:

    • Retrofit Assessor
    • Retrofit Coordinator
    • Retrofit Designer
    • Retrofit Installer
